Last year, WhatsApp finally allowed you to migrate your chat history over a cable from an iPhone to your new Android. Now, the company has announced that the same capability is being added for those with Android smartphones who want to switch to a new iPhone.
The first announcement regarding chat history migration between iPhones and Androids was made almost 10 months ago. The new information comes from Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Facebook, who said they’re adding “WhatsApp the ability to securely switch between phones and transfer your chat history, photos, videos, and voice messages between Android and iPhone while preserving end-to-end data.” -end encryption”.
He went on to say that this is a highly requested feature. “Last year, we launched the ability to switch from iPhone->Android and now also add Android->iPhone,” he added. The new process is very different from what was available when switching from iPhone to Android, which requires a cable. However, from Android to iPhone, everything is controlled wirelessly.

Furthermore, both devices must be connected to a power source, and finally, both devices must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network, or you must connect your Android device to your iPhone’s hotspot.
How to transfer WhatsApp chats from an Android phone to iPhone?
A list of steps to follow to migrate chats from Android to iPhone is as follows:
Open the Move to iOS app on your Android phone and follow the instructions on the screen. The iPhone will now show you a code. Enter the code on your Android phone when prompted. Tap Continue and follow the instructions on the net. Select WhatsApp on the Transfer data screen. Tap “Start” on your Android phone and wait for WhatsApp to prepare the data for export. Click “Next” to return to the “Move to iOS” app. Tap “Continue” to transfer the data from your Android phone to your iPhone, and wait for Move to iOS to confirm the transfer is complete.
Next, you must set up WhatsApp on iOS and sign in with the phone number you used on your old device. WhatsApp will then show you the ‘Start’ button after pressing it, allowing you to complete the process. Once you’re done setting up your device, you’ll see all your chats in WhatsApp.
Remember that the transferred data will not go to the cloud storage due to the migration until you create an iCloud backup. This means you must create a new iCloud backup of WhatsApp chats on your iPhone. Besides, your old Android phone will still have your data unless you delete WhatsApp or wipe your phone. Finally, peer-to-peer payment messages and your call history are not transferred during the migration.
