Pataa uses ISRO’s technology to deliver location service at the door – The Mobile Indian

It is usually difficult to find the exact home address on a location map available on the market. However, Pataa Navigations tries to make it simple and plans to use Indian satellites to find the exact location in the future.

It signed an MoU with ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) at the recent inauguration of the In-Space Headquarters in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The MoU was signed in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The agreement provides access to ISR’s Geospatial Services & APIs to develop the addressing system. With this cooperation, India can look forward to a better-addressing system.

What is Pata?

You need to drop a pin to create your new digital address with Patra. Then select the digital address code. You’ll need to enter your full address information and add a landmark when you’re done. Then it will convert it into unique shortcodes like ^SHARMA222 that can be shared as a digital address. You can also record voice prompts and upload photos with your address to guide navigation.

Patara will enable people to have digital addresses based on satellite images. Patara and ISRO will exchange a combination of the satellite images/maps and the address system through ISRO portals. The cooperation would be for the services of ISRO portals, namely Bhuvan, VEDAS, and MOSDAC, through this MoU.

This partnership will benefit rural India by providing loans, seeds, and technical facilities at the exact location. The ambulance can also be in the right place at the right time.

What does Google Maps do?

Currently, Google Maps is one of the most widely used navigation applications. It provides aerial and 2D, and 3D satellite images of many places. The app offers a location service that uses the GPS (Global Positioning System) location of the mobile device and data from mobile networks. But sometimes, when you expect a package delivery, the director has to call you for more specific instructions. The specified address or landmark still does not lead to the exact address using Google Maps.

On the other hand, the Pataa app allows users to share addresses and direct others to their location using satellites. Based on location intelligence, Pataa makes your address easy to search, locate, navigate, and communicate.

ISRO partnership with handset players

At the end of last year, ISRO signed an agreement with Oppo to strengthen the research and development of the Navigation with Indian Constellation (NavIC) messaging service. In addition to its primary function of providing PNT services (position, navigation, and timing), NavIC is also capable of transmitting short messages.

According to ISRO, NavIC offers position accuracy of more than 10 meters (33 ft) over the entire Indian landmass and better than 20 meters (66 ft) in the Indian Ocean. It covers India and an area extending up to 1,500 km outside the Indian mainland (primary coverage area).

The partnership will enable ISRO and OPPO India to exchange technical information on NavIC messaging services. In addition, they will build fast, turnkey, end-to-end application-specific solutions by integrating the NavIC short message function into the smartphones released by Oppo India. Oppo India has its manufacturing facility in Noida and an R&D center in Hyderabad.

The first phone in India with NavIC support is Realme X50 Pro 5G. Realme and Xiaomi have confirmed they are working on more NavIC-supported phones. It should also be noted that NavIC support will not be extended to older phones with a software update.

Qualcomm announced three Snapdragon mobile platforms, 720G, 662, and 460, two years ago, equipped with NavIC. Furthermore, the Redmi Note 9 Pro series supports NavIC technology.
